(Guest post)
Photography business owners are always looking for ways to take better pictures (or they should be).
Whether it’s a time-saving shortcut or a newly found photo technique, if you’re the owner of a photography business, you need to stay on top of the latest photo-related information.
In this post, I’m going to show you the 5 best websites for photographers.
Lastly and more importantly, I hope you can find a few tricks that will take your photography business to the next level.
The 5 Best Photography Websites
Are you ready to become a better photographer?
Would you like fresh ideas you can start using immediately?
Do you want to hear more “wows” from your photography customers?
If so, check out these great photography websites!
According to the website’s editors, this is “The Internet’s Original Photography Community, Since 1993.” And what a site it is!
Readers have an opportunity to learn photography techniques, explore their massive photo library, or join any of the 40 different forums. Doing so will enable you to ask questions and engage in interesting conversations with fellow photographers from around the world.
And speaking of photo libraries, have you seen some of the amazing children’s photographs displayed on the Spoiled Rotten Photography website?
2. The SLR Lounge consistently receives close to 500,000 visitors each month. Why?
Because of the number of how-to articles and step-by-step videos that will help you up your game.
In addition, they have a powerful section on their website devoted to the business of photography that’s worth a look.
3. Lensculture.com features several free photography guides that are “packed with advice, inspiration and recommendations for photographers of all levels. Covering a range of topics, each guide has been written specifically to motivate and help photographers move forward creatively and professionally.”
Tip: Write these two words down:
- Creatively
- Professionally
Those words hold the key to your success as a current or future photography business owner.
Do you own a photography business?
If so, have you thought about growing it by becoming part of a franchise system?
After all, franchising…in this case, the Spoiled Rotten Photography Franchise, offers a lot of terrific things most independent photographers don’t have. It’s something to think about.
Now let’s get back to “The 5 Best Photography Websites.”
4. The Digital Photography School deserves to be on this “Best Photography Websites” post for two reasons. And the first reason is a personal one.
Briefly, I began following Darren Rowse when I first started blogging, as his Problogger.net website was one of the most popular ones (for blogging) around.
Basically, I used the articles Darren wrote to hone my craft. And several years ago I got to meet him at a conference. He’s a nice guy, and I remember him saying that his first website was a photography site.
The second reason? His excellent photography website.
From Digital Photography School: “We offer daily tips, resources and free tutorials that will help you get the most out your camera and create stunning photos.” See for yourself.
5. Let’s do something a little different.
From Sean Tucker:
“I’m more interested in the ‘why’ of photography than in the ‘how.’
There are loads of channels out there enthusiastically giving you gear reviews and top ten lists, but that’s not this channel.
There will be practical tips along the way, but the meat of what I want to share with you won’t be tech heavy.”
How does that sound?
With this in mind, coming in at #5 in this “Best Photography Websites” post is Sean Tucker’s wonderful YouTube Channel: In conclusion, if you want to be the best you can be, it’s crucial for you to continue learning new photography techniques. It’s also crucial for your customers.
Because the better your final product – the happier they’ll be.
