(Guest Post)
In this post, I’m going to share 3 benefits of starting a small business from home. I think you’ll like them.
The Popularity Of Home-Based Businesses
According to the U.S. Small Business Administration, “The share of businesses that are home-based has remained relatively constant over the past decade, at about 50% of all firms.” But wait. That statistic was from 2018. A lot has changed since then.
One significant change is the fact that more and more companies are encouraging, or in some cases, demanding that their employees work from home-for at least some of the time. This change is causing society as a whole to look at working from home in a much different light. One that’s more open and accommodating. The good news?
The increased popularity of working from home has started to affect how home-based businesses are perceived.
A prediction: one day in the not-so-distant future, when someone thinks of a home-based business, they won’t think of…
Here Are 3 Benefits Of Starting A Small Business From Home
As promised, I’m now going to share a few benefits of being a home-based franchise business owner.
Time
If you’d like to have more control of your time, you should look into owning and operating a business from home.
And while it’s true that you can’t always set a work schedule that’s perfectly aligned with your leisure schedule, more times than not you should be able to. How does that sound?
Air
Specifically, fresh air.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have the ability to take a 20–30-minute walk outside practically anytime you want?
While on the surface, this may not sound like a huge deal, but if you’re coming from an indoor office environment, it kind of is. Especially if you’re used to having to ask for permission to disappear for a half hour.
Now compare that to starting a small business from home.
If you did that, you’d never need to ask your boss for permission to do something simple and beneficial…like going outside to take a walk. Because you don’t have a boss.
Ownership
The biggest benefit of owning and operating a business from home is the fact that you’re the owner. What does that mean?
“You are the master of your destiny. You can influence, direct, and control your own environment. You can make your life what you want it to be.”
– from the book, Think and Grow Rich, written by Napoleon Hill
In addition to being the owner of a business, being able to truly control your own destiny and adding more freedom and flexibility to your life, there’s “the money” aspect of owning a business.
Simply put, the money you make is your money-not your boss’s.
And while it’s true that if you go the franchise route you’ll need to pay royalties to the franchisor, most franchisees agree that it’s well worth it.
More On Ownership
When you own a Spoiled Rotten Photography franchise in your area, you get to own experiences.
In particular, you own the experiences the parents and children have during photo sessions.
In addition, there are the experiences those same parents, along with grandparents and other family members and friends will have when they look at the work you and your photographers have created.
Finally, I concede that I’m not (yet) a master at writing.
That leads me to believe that the words I’ve used to describe the “experiences” thus far aren’t cutting it. Good thing there’s video:
